CBI to take police staff on deputation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has decided to take officers from the state police services on deputation in a bid to overcome the shortage of officers.
The CBI has said that it will provide them better pay package and perks.
Joint Director, CBI (ACB) Rishiraj Singh, told reporters that the practice of taking over the state police staff on deputation has already begun in States like Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
“I will talk to the Director General of Police (DGP) Goa this evening on this issue. We will advertise the vacancies through newspapers so that those aspiring to join our force can do it,” Singh said.
CBI will be providing local posting to the police officers who switch over to them and also the pay will be hiked by 25 per cent. “They also will be given residential quarters,” Singh said.
He said that the officers would be on deputation for seven years and they will enjoy one step promotion as soon as they join. “For example, a police sub inspector level officer joins here then he will be given posting as inspector,” Singh said.
Singh stated that the CBI in Goa requires officers right from Inspector to Constable level.
CBI which has its Anti-Corruption Branch in Goa today shifted from Panjim to a new office at the outskirt at Bambolim in a spacious place.
