CCP to tow bikes for improper parking

The towing truck will now have three shifts, with an additional overnight added

PANJIM: After looking at the improper parking and blocks in Panjim, the City Corporation of Panaji (CCP) has started two-wheelers towing process again after a year’s gap, says a press release.
The towing of two-wheeler impounding was stopped due the break-down of the towing truck. This time the truck will run in three shifts instead of earlier two. The shifts will be from 10 am to 1 pm; 4 pm to 8 pm and 9 pm to 5 am. The overnight shift was decided after looking at the casino two-wheelers unwanted parking which has been blocking roads at night from Panjim Ferry to KTC every day.
RTO and CCP will jointly carry out the towing with CCP staff present during the exercise while the RTO will control any crisis, the release added.
CCP has also fixed fines for the infringement with those violating the rules to be charged Rs 400 as a fixed penalty of which Rs 100 will be paid to RTO.
Mayor said, “We are not here for collection; we want two-wheeler riders to park their vehicles in proper parking areas. This will make easy for emergency services to reach on time.”
