MARGAO: The Chinchinim-Deussua Village Panchayat called for a meeting recently to discuss the long-pending request of construction of a crematorium facility in the Hindu crematorium ground in the village.
The meeting was held at the panchayat and was attended by all the stakeholders. It is to be noted that in the letter written to the Collector by Dattaprasadik Samaj, Dattawadi-Chinchinim, they have requested the authorities to quickly fulfill their demand for the construction of a full-fledged Hindu Crematorium, which has pending since November 2009.
A letter had been written a while ago and the Samaj President Vivan Mohan Raikar, said their demand for the construction of the crematorium in the area landmarked for the Hindu Crematorium in Chinchinim has been pending due the absence of any willingness on the part of the administration at various levels, which has caused inconvenience to the Hindu Community in Chinchinim–Deussua and nearby villages.
The Deputy Sarpanch of Chinchinim-Deussua Valentino Barretto said that all the sides have been heard and the same will be forwarded to the District Collector for further processing.
