Seen in the picture is a damaged portion of road along Tisk – Khadpabandh route in Ponda. The situation tends to be a perfect death trap for motorists and two-wheeler riders. There is every possibility of a serious mishap taking place sooner or later. Pillion riders would remain to be the worst sufferers in the process, more so during the night amidst poor visibility on the road. In order to avoid a possible tragedy along this busy route it would be appropriate for the concerned authorities to undertake immediate repairs at the defective portion of the road without any further delay. Such a favorable step would go a long way in avoiding adverse consequences including serious injuries and at times even death of innocent travellers. Since prevention is better than cure, let us hope that this serious defect would be rectified at once in public interest. No doubt, innocent travellers must be assured safety on a permanent basis.
