Getting railway tickets in advance online is nothing short of a nightmare!
In this day and age, when we boast of technological advancement, the common man still struggles to get online railway tickets, while the agent gets it so very effortlessly.
We have been travelling to different States of India every year and prefer to travel by train as I have an elderly parents, who want to visit my brothers or sisters, who have settled in different parts of India. However, getting a ticket really is a big task.
I am quite surprised that after trying hard to get a booking for my dad and me, to south India and after giving up in frustration I was surprised to learn that travel agents have a lot of tickets.
Of course, it was later I learn t that the tickets were available at a higher price than designated by the railway authorities.
I would like to ask the railway authorities if they can read this to kindly throw light on how a common man cannot get a booking even months before the departure but the but agents can so easily get it.
I am sure there will be so many who are facing the same problem like me and have nowhere to go and no one to complain to.
I live in Mapusa and my dad lives in Porvorim and find it hard to get a railway ticket.
On the other hand, if I travel by bus or by plane I can easily get the ticket of my choice online. Why is this not the same with the railways and why cannot I get a train ticket online?
Can someone explain me this? Is there someone who will take up my problems to the Union Minister for Railways? I hope the common man’s problem can be solved soon.
