Kamat Warns Officials Against ‘Passing the Ball’ on Public Grievances

PWD Minister Digambar Kamat on Friday attended to public grievances at the Margao Municipal Council and assured citizens that most pending issues would be resolved in the coming days.

Speaking to the media, Kamat said several matters had already been streamlined while warning government employees against unnecessarily moving files and complaints from one table to another.

“I am giving a last warning to those doing this. If I find anyone repeating such practices, strict action will be taken,” Kamat said.

He stressed that good governance is an important parameter for winning public confidence and said people should not be made to suffer over minor issues.

“I will ensure that the administration works properly in the coming days. I have put a system in place at the Margao Municipality, and complaints have now reduced considerably,” he added.
