This has been the common scene, wherein the people are walking on the roads in Margao Municipal Council jurisdiction area. Footpath facilities are there on both sides of the roads but people are not using them, instead walking on the roads only because footpaths are not walkable for many reasons.
Footpaths are covered not only with huge bushes but also broken stone pieces, tree branches, waste clothes and dust.

In some places, the vehicle owners are parking two and four-wheeler vehicles on the footpaths. These cause a hindrance for the pedestrians to walk on the footpaths. It is the duty of the local administration to keep the footpaths and roads always clean and obstacle free. But it is not done by the Margao Municipal Council.
It is an appeal to the Margao civic body to take action to keep the footpaths clean and also an advice for pedestrians to use the footpaths.
Zebra crossing is not to be seen in the MMC areas. Hope, the MMC will come forward to solve the problem in public interest.
