Dustbins needed at Old Goa Church premises

In the initial stages, dustbins were installed along the pavement on either side of the road adjacent to the Church premises at Old Goa. Hence, the public at large dumped waste papers and plastic bottles inside the same.
It helped in keeping the premises neat and tidy. However, during recent years, the said dustbins are found missing from the concerned spots. What we notice is only the stands (of these dustbins) in isolation.
Due to absence of dustbins, tourists visiting these premises in large numbers are accustomed of dumping waste papers, plastic bottles, etc. in open areas. Hence, there is every possibility of this major religious spot turning ugly. Even left over eatables are likely to be thrown here and there.
The concerned authorities should take a note of this important matter and arrange installation of the missing dustbins on priority basis so that the basic purpose of achieving the notion of ‘Nital Goem’ is achieved at the earliest.
Since cleanliness is next to godliness, let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in this important matter without any further delay.
