Enough is enough, potholes repair works delayed

The potholes are a disgrace and by simply stating that those who have the contract are responsible for repairing the road is not adequate. The public have suffered a lot and borne the brunt that the potholes have caused — accidents, delays, general disturbances. The roads were meant to be repaired by Ganesh Chaturthi, now it’s delayed to November.
Absolute resolution is mandatory. Repair does not mean just rock filling which the locals have begun doing, but actual road repair/maintenance.
Besides the potholes, the weeds on the roadsides are disgraceful. The road maintenance is in total shambles. The monsoons are over and the panchayats and the PWD need to begin tidying up the roadsides to eliminate the mosquitoes, garbage accumulating behind bushes, snakes appearing since these weeds are not plants. Snakes have been sighted in Caranzalem.
The street weeds have grown to such lengths that eventually they will overtake the entire roads whereby pedestrians will be unable to walk…which is antecedently is the case and a safety hazard.
Paramount action is required immediately for public safety, hygiene, garbage dumping and for supporting the environmental esthetics. What more can one say — enough is enough!
