Four Pillars – giving Goa a bad image

Goa is a beautiful place, but there are certain spots which show the not-so-good side of the State. One of those spots is near the Four Pillars, St Cruz.
The board reads ‘Thank you visit again’ obviously put up by the St Cruz Village Panchayat. The board is quite embarrassing to us and also confusing to tourists who pass by the famous Four Pillars.
If one pays attention to the signboard itself, it is not a bad signage but the place surrounding it does not augur well with our beautiful image of the State.
These kind of undeveloped creeks, rivulets, sluice gates where water flows through and fro during heavy rains are many in our Goa State. However, no authority bothers to take action even though it has been brought to the notice of the concerned many a time. The authorities concerned, perhaps, wake up only when there is a disaster.
This does not end up here. This place has become like a hub for anti-social elements especially at night. Also a mini fish market makes it an accident prone zone. It also carries a bad impression and bad image of Goa to other states.
We only praise our own tails saying Goem, Goenkar and Goenkarponn. The authorities should not only stick to your political kodel (chair), but get up, go around and do something which is constructive needed which will go a long way for Goa’s development which is the need of the hour. Hope the authorities will wake up before the rainy cloud bursts and the water will gush over and above the road. This should be prevented and further damage contained in the interest of people who voted you to power.
