Improve conditions at Ponda KTC bus stand

The Kadamba bus terminus in Ponda happens to be a major bus stand where commuters occupy the premises on a regular basis.
However, the bus stand has remained neglected for quite some time, with various issues plaguing it .
The existence of several large potholes not only looks ugly, but also causes inconvenience to buses entering the bus stop.
Besides, several stray dogs that seem to have made the bus stop their home, also cause hardships to commuters awaiting for buses. Some dogs appear rather ferocious and snarl and growl at commuters.
Then there are the stall-owners, who dump plastic garbage and unwanted material at the extreme sides of the bus stop making it dirty. Even the drains are noticed in an unhygienic condition.
What is still worse is that many commuters urinate in the open area around the bus stand and there is seldom an instance of authorities taking action for this undesirable practice.
Under such circumstances, we cannot achieve the goals of ‘Nital Goem’. At times, private vehicles including motorcycles and cars are parked in the area meant for buses. It is time for concerned authorities to conduct inspection at this major bus-stand and initiate prompt favourable steps to improve the prevailing deteriorating conditions, before the situation turns from bad to worse.
