Nowadays, it is almost like hell on earth for people living in and around Margao, due to the careless attitude of the electricity department.
In fact, we have to put up with electricity department with several employees seen stuck to their seats and not wanting to budge an inch to see that power was restored for two continuous nights.
It is annoying to note that these are the very linesmen who go about tapping people’s line and giving illegal connections in return for monetary benefit.
Any excuse from the electrical engineer is unacceptable by any standards, as a government that pledges development cannot ensure that people living in a city like Margao, are given an electricity department that should work for the benefit of the people rather than one that is worst.
Attempts to call the department are often useless and irritating as the phones are immediately put off the hook in case of problems or when there id power disruption in and around Margao.
We would really appreciate if the Power Minister uses the power he commands to set things right and give Goa proper electricity before the government can think of developing roads and building bridges. We want the basic facilities like light and water to be in order before other things are thought of.
Lastly, the power tariff currently does not match the quality of electricity provided.
I would say a government that cannot ensure basic and regular electric supply is a stand-out failure! I hope remedial measures are taken.
