The Pe Pedro Ferrão Road, Fatorda highlights two important issues demanding urgent attention from PWD and other concerned authorities.
Water from a perennially leaking pipeline, since many months, is allowed to go waste 24×7. No one seems to bother to take note about the wastage of a precious commodity. Also constant flow of water along the road has made its surface slippery, which can easily lead to skidding of the pedestrians and two wheelers.
The second is about the stray cattle squatting in the middle of the road and providing some sort of natural bovine speedbreaker by considerably slowing the fast moving traffic.
Indeed speedbreakers are the need of the hour on this heavily travelled road during morning and evening hours. Several accidents have taken place along the stretch of the road having school, church, supermarket and bank along the road.
Crossing the road is nightmare for the pedestrians particularly as there’s no properly demarcated Zebra Crossing to allow for safe crossing the road. Fortunately, nearby there’s a private clinic, which has become very helpful in providing first aid and medical treatments for the accident victims.
Let’s hope that the concerned authorities will awake up and take some prompt action on these issues.
