This is indeed a sorry state of affairs which need to be condemned by one and all.
On several occasions this practice has been noticed and public at large visiting the post-office remain totally helpless. On Friday, September 30 at 11am, situation in this regard remained unchanged and customers were found using a stick to apply gum for fixing postal stamps and also to close the envelopes. (A sample piece of this wooden stick which is in my possession can be produced at the request of the party concerned). Under these circumstances, it would be appropriate for the higher officials at the postal department in Ponda to provide a proper gum bottle at this premises so that it benefits the customers who visit here in large numbers during major part of the day.
By the way, out of the two letter-boxes installed outside this post-office, one letter box was recently found to be closed for public use. This prevents customers from dropping their important letters here. The postal authorities should see to it that innocent customers are assured efficient service at all times. Maintaining favourable conditions would ultimately assure relief to one and all. Let us hope that the existing undesirable situation in above respects improve at the earliest.
