MARGAO: Safety concerns have been mounting among Rawanfond Circle’s where local residents have raised concerns, primarily due to the precarious condition of a high-voltage overhead electricity pole. This issue has persisted for almost two years, with the pole remaining dangerously tilted. Despite repeated appeals to the authorities, no action has been taken to rectify the situation or repair the damaged infrastructure.
Local residents are voicing their apprehensions, drawing attention to the deteriorating state of the pole, which lacks the essential support. They have pointed out that the lower section of the pole is heavily corroded, and roughly 60% of the pole is bent, presenting an immediate threat to passing vehicles.
There is a growing fear among locals that a serious accident could transpire if the live electricity wire were to disengage and fall onto a moving vehicle. Given these alarming concerns, they are urgently urging the authorities to prioritize the maintenance and replacement of this hazardous pole, thus safeguarding both residents and road users alike.
