All the rubbish discarded in the Mandovi River gets accumulated at the ferry wharfs on the Betim and Panjim sides giving the onlookers an ugly sight and displaying the decadence of the Mandovi River in spite of the beautiful and scenic view from afar.
Our government officials who are sent on regular foreign jaunts have certainly observed the cleanliness maintained in foreign countries and they could very well take up the measures to have our rivers and shores in super clean conditions. Just using the slogan of “Swachh Bharat” without showing any work on the ground is a blatant display of hypocrisy.
