The Santa Cruz Village Panchayat authorities have successfully cleared the garbage from most of the corners and junctions of the village, but a huge heap of garbage still remains uncleared at St Augustin Waddo. The broken garbage bins in the village need to be replaced also.
The posters and signboards warning, “Don’t Dump Garbage Here Offenders Will Be Heavily Fined”, are being put up, but to a great dismay it was noticed that garbage dumping continued and strewn all over the cleared and cleaned up area thereby disobeying the rules and the warnings.
The cattle feast on the garbage and obstruct the smooth flow of vehicular movement. But now Santa Cruz MLA and village panchayat authorities have taken up personal interest in clearing the most littered area by placing flower plant vases on the footpath, giving a good look to the area. In addition to this, public in general should also co-operate with the authorities.
