Tall trucks snap live wires in Sodiem-Siolim at night

Those travelling on the Siolim-Sodiem route to and from Mapusa at night have been going through a harrowing time since the past week, as they have been encountering live electricity wires hanging in the middle of the road.

The poor visibility on account of the pouring rain makes it difficult to spot the lurking danger, which could well lead to fatalities.

Responsible for snapping of the live wires, broadband internet cables and branches of several trees in the dead of the night are the super tall trucks (check pic).

These rogue trucks get off from the national highway and take the Sodiem route at Cunchelim, enroute to coastal Pernem via the Siolim-Chopdem bridge.

The Siolim-Sodiem panchayat must act quickly and get this nocturnal menace stopped immediately before innocent lives are lost due to electrocution.
