Earlier the symbol of Indian currency coins for Rupee one was (Re) and for Rupees two or more as (Rs.) in short forms. But currently the signs are same for both for Re 1 and Rs 2 which makes no difference making older citizens difficult to recognize while travelling or buying goods.
Can a change in the present currency signs be suggested as shown in the picture with one small cut line above for Re. 1 and two small cut lines above for Rs. 2 and move as a change in our Indian currency if it is approved.
For example more so since the Goods and Service Tax has already been implemented from the midnight of July 1, 2017 by the government the dealer or trader is bound to issue bill or receipt to his customer for the goods he/she buys from the traders or shop owners.
For example to whomsoever the GST Act including traders, shop owners, Hotels, Corporation, Societies etc. may be applicable they are bound to issue them the bill or receipt.
If I buy 20 chocolates @ Re 1 but mention sold 20 chocolates @ Rs. 1 each (Re) it would be inappropriate.
I feel it would be good if the concerned government departments takes up this suggestion with Higher Financial Authorities to make this small changes and urge all the government establishments, corporations co-operative societies to make good use of these changes and even specially in all computer operator systems.
