He has successfully grown a Singaporean cherry plant, a pioneer perhaps, in the backyard of his ancestral house and is now seeing the results of his hard labour. He runs a water pump on solar energy to fill a 1000 litres water tank to water his plantation through a sprinkler. There’s nothing that we cannot do here, he says, with a grin; our land is fertile and cultivable, we must put it to the best of use, he suggests.
Monsoon is just approaching, we will have plenty of rainfall; it’s time we get to work and cultivate if we own a piece of land, keep Goa green and clean, ourselves busy and show the way to good living.
