PANJIM: The government has terminated the services of Junior Scale Officer of Goa Civil Service, Vibhav Ulhas Naik, posted as Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes for submitting a forged certificate at the time of recruitment.
The termination order, issued by Personnel Department, says that Naik, who was on probation, submitted a false caste certificate during the recruitment process.
ACB-Vigilance had conducted an inquiry into the issue of caste certificate issued by the Deputy Collector of Canacona following a complaint from Amar Kantak stating that Naik falls in the creamy level and fraudulently acquired the caste certificate.
Following the inquiry a report was placed before the Chief Vigilance Officer in July 2016. The report stated that Naik fraudulently obtained a caste certificate by misrepresenting his annual family income.
