PANJIM: In an important decision, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has decided to allow Class X candidates who failed to clear the Board examination, to keep the terms in Class XI for the current academic year.
In a circular issued to all Higher Secondary schools, the Board has asked them to admit all unsuccessful candidates, who failed in a maximum of two subjects in the April 2022 SSC Board examination, to be admitted to Class XI and be given remedial teaching to bridge learning gaps.
The decision has been taken considering the partial online classes and delay in commencement of the academic year 2021-22 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It is needless to mention that school heads shall not declare the result of Class XI of these students till they pass the Class X exam of the Board,” Secretary Geraldina Mendes said in the circular.
