bicholim: Bicholim mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit on Tuesday gave a clean chit to Shirgao mine in Bicholim taluka over the complaint of alleged illegal excavation of ore.
This was in connection to the video that had been recorded by Shirgao residents claiming the mining company was doing more than just transporting the ore. Shirgao Sarpanch Sadanand Gaonkar had submitted the complaint. Based on this, a site inspection was held, where it was noted that no such illegal excavation was being undertaken. “There was no evidence of any illegal excavation done by the company. They are just involved in transporting the ore which has already been excavated,” said Pandit after the inspection.
