PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was expected to leave early Friday morning for USA for a health review pertaining to his pancreatic aliment. Parrikar is expected back on August 18. Parrikar travelled to Mumbai on Thursday evening, from where he was to leave for USA.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement said that Parrikar will not be available in the State from August 10 to August 17.
Parrikar, 62, was in the USA from March to mid-June, where he underwent treatment for the pancreatic ailment. He had fallen ill in February. After initial treatment in Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, he had flown to USA.
In the absence of the Chief Minister, his Principal Secretary P Krishnamurthy will record the decisions.
