Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday made two key assurances in the Goa Legislative Assembly during Zero Hour discussions, responding to concerns raised by Opposition Leader Yuri Alemao and Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas.
Responding to Alemao’s plea, Sawant assured that the government will grant accreditation to former students of the erstwhile Don Bosco Agriculture College in Sulcorna, enabling them to become eligible for agriculture-related government jobs. “We will take necessary steps to ensure these students are not left behind due to institutional changes,” Sawant said.

In another intervention, Sawant addressed a concern raised by MLA Viegas regarding Goan youth lodged in U.S. jails due to visa expiry. The Chief Minister asked Viegas to submit a list of affected individuals, and promised that the government would extend legal assistance to them. “We are committed to helping Goans abroad in distress,” he said.
The announcements were well-received in the House, as both issues highlight the government’s willingness to address challenges faced by Goan youth both at home and overseas.
