Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has assured residents of St Cruz that the Bondvoll Lake will be protected, addressing concerns over development activities in the vicinity of the water body. The assurance came after villagers raised objections to permissions granted for private real estate projects near the lake, citing potential environmental risks.
Sources said residents first submitted their demands to local MLA Rudolf Fernandes before meeting the Chief Minister. During the interaction, Dr Sawant assured the villagers that action would be taken on all three demands placed before the government.
