CM Pramod Sawant flagged off first special train to Ayodhya with 1,200 devotees

Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant flagged off the first special train to Ayodhya on Sunday, marking the launch of the state government’s ‘Dev Darshan Yojana’. The inaugural journey carried around 1,200 devotees from Goa, offering them an opportunity to undertake a pilgrimage to the revered Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

Officials said the initiative aims to make religious travel more accessible and affordable for devotees, especially senior citizens and those from economically weaker sections. The programme will include multiple special trains to meet growing demand.

As per the schedule, the second train under the scheme was set to depart on January 26, while the third was planned for February 2. The government said the scheme reflected its commitment to promoting spiritual tourism and ensuring smooth travel arrangements for pilgrims.
