He noted that a sari which once sold for approximately ₹200 is now valued at nearly ₹4,000, reflecting the increasing appreciation and demand for the indigenous textile.
Sawant said he was encouraged to see more women embracing the Kunbi sari and contributing to the preservation and promotion of Goa’s rich cultural heritage. He emphasized that the revival and growing acceptance of the traditional attire demonstrate how local traditions can gain wider recognition when supported by dedicated efforts.
