PANJIM: The All Goa Private Bus Owners Association (AGPBOA) has now appealed to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to introduce app service instead of fitment of digital fare meters for taxis.
AGPBOA General Secretary Sudip Tamhankar said that they submitted a representation to the Chief Minister requesting him to study the possibility of developing and implementing App which is not costly and easy to operate since every taxi driver has knowledge of using smart mobile phone handsets and various apps for their personal use.
He said that he brought to the notice of Chief Minister that now across India, all-India tourist taxi vehicles are not fitted with digital meters and that it was only in Goa the government was taking arbitrary decision to install digital meters for taxis.
