MARGAO: Raising concerns over the spread of the coronavirus in Mangor Hill, NCP MLA Churchill Alemao on Wednesday requested Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to stop fish and vegetable trucks from entering Goa from other states for next 2 months.
Churchill alleged that the fish coming during rains and the ban period is laced with formalin.
“Announce a complete lockdown for the month of June in Goa. The infection spreads fast during the rains and due to cold temperature. I request the CM not to start schools and hotels yet because one person will infect entire family” he urged.
The NCP legislator said that since his childhood he never saw fish in the rainy season during the ban period and it is now that fish is brought and sold in Goa during the season.
He urged the people of Goa to be patient and to stop buying fish imported from other States.
“The fish coming from other States can’t be brought without formalin,” Churchill alleged and claimed that the States from where the fish is imported have no ice plants.
