MARGAO: A complaint filed by Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer (CO) Melvyn Vaz against senior councillor Sadanand Naik over an alleged assault on municipal engineer Vinay Desai was withdrawn on Tuesday, marking a swift resolution within 24 hours.

The decision came after a meeting held at the residence of Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on the same day. Present at the meeting were Vaz, MMC chief Damu Shirodkar, Councillor Naik, and Vice-Chairperson Babita Naik. While details of the discussions remain undisclosed, sources suggest the meeting focused on mitigating the damage caused to the ruling BJP-backed council’s reputation. The attendees got both parties to resolve the matter amicably.
