PANJIM: The minimum temperature in the State capital dropped by nearly 1.5 degrees in the last 24 hours, and was recorded at the 18.5 Degree Celsius mark, as cold waves hit most parts of the State on Tuesday.
The drop in minimum temperature was witnessed across Goa as Indian Meteorological department (IMD) forecast dry weather for State till January 28. Several parts of the State witnessed heavy fog.
IMD Goa in-charge Rahul said that there is a circulation over north interior Karnataka which could bring moisture over Goa and cause some clouding.
He said that the minimum temperature is likely to fall for another 24 hours and gradual rise by around 2 Degree Celsius thereafter over Goa.
As per IMD information, January 12 has been so far the coolest day of the season for Panjim, when the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.2 Degree Celsius. The lowest every minimum temperature in January recorded for the capital city was on January 3, 1991 that is 14.4 Degree Celsius.
