MARGAO: After the withdrawal of nomination by Camilo Barretto on Saturday, the fight for Fatorda is now open and will be fought between Goa Forward’s Vijai Sardessai, Congress’ Joseph Silva, AAP’s Ranjit Cota Carvalho and BJP’s Damu Naik.
The entire election action has now become mudslinging. Congress says it is a straight fight between them and BJP now, while Vijai welcomed at least 200 ST people into Goa Forward.
On Saturday, the Fatorda Block was busy campaigning while the Vijai was busy holding corner and public meetings in various areas like Chandrawado, Madel, and Pajifond.
While welcoming nearly 200 ST people into his party, Vijai said, “Betrayal is a cardinal sin and Congress has done the sin. The sin of Congress will get a payback.”
Vijai said that it has now become clear who the B-team of BJP is. Vijai has already been heard speaking that the Congress candidate is not even worth winning a Council election.
On his part, Silva said, “The amount of fire the Goa Forward candidate is breathing against us in his meetings and on news is a clear testimony to the fact that he is highly frustrated with the rising of a ST leader in Fatorda.”
“Not only the STs but almost all the minorities and the people of Fatorda supporting,” he said.
me and I can now confidently say that this is a fight between Congress and BJP and Goa Forward is nowhere,” Silva said.
“We have got less time but we are sure that we will make up for it and come out triumphant in the upcoming challenge,” he added.
