Cortalim Ind candidate Anton denies rumours about POLITICAL parties backing him

VASCO: Former Zilla Panchayat (ZP) member of Cortalim and the present independent candidate, Anton Vaz rejected speculation about any political party supporting him and claimed that such false rumours were being spread to hurt his ZP campaign. 

Speaking to media persons, he said he doesn’t have any affiliation with any political party and added that the he has the support the people. Expressing confidence about securing a victory in the polls, he said he decided to contest as an independent based on the messages he received from the public.  He further added that being independent, he won’t be told what to do by the high command of a regional or national party and that he wants to focus on taking up works for the public.

In his previous tenure, he said he executed pubic development works amounting to Rs 1.64 crore through the ZP funds and had also procured items for the public worth Rs 19 lakh.  “I have provided hearse vans, ambulance , mobile morgues and also free farming machines to farmers under the Cortalim Farmers club established by me” Vaz added.
