PERNEM: In a heart-wrenching incident, dairy farmer Pratima Korgaonkar from Korgao was left devastated after discovering that her cows and calves had been brutally beaten and some killed by her neighbour. In response, Pratima has filed a formal complaint with the Pernem police.
The attack came to light when Pratima entered the cow shed to milk her cows and buffaloes. She was met with a horrifying sight as she found one of the calves dead.
“These animals are my sole source of livelihood, I have no one else to rely on,” said Pratima Korgaonkar, the distraught dairy farmer.
“One calf had been killed and the other calf, along with two cows, had suffered brutal injuries,” she said.
She added, “My husband has passed away, my child is unwell, and I have no assistance. I have filed a complaint against the accused and implore the government to ensure justice. The government must guide me on how to sustain myself and safeguard me and my animals. I’ve asked the police to thoroughly investigate this matter,” Pratima Korgaonkar pleaded.
