MAPUSA: Residents of Mapusa stopped the ongoing construction work of culvert on Tar River. According to locals, the highway contractor continued with construction of a culvert without desilting the river. The culvert work which recommenced was yet again stopped by locals, who demanded that the debris dumped into the river be removed. A team of councillors including Prakash Bhivshet along with locals, chairperson Shubhangi Vaigankar, Tarak Arolkar questioned the staff over the demand of removal of mud.
