PONDA: The residents of Curti, who have been complaining against the long-standing issue of garbage dumping near the truck parking site in the village, have now requested the authorities including the Goa State Pollution Control Board and local panchayat, to initiate action by clearing the site at the earliest.

Sandeep Parkar, a social activist said, “Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had promised to initiate action against garbage dumping at the site. I request him to direct authorities to investigate the matter further.”
Stating that the Goa State Pollution Control Board inspected the site, Parkar emphasised that it is the responsibility of government authorities to determine who dumped the garbage at the site.
He said that the panchayat issued a notice to the landowner, but the garbage is yet to be cleared from the spot.
