MARGAO: The Margao Town police arrested Jeviston Barretto, a resident of Curtorim in connection with a chain-snatching case. Vanshika Shirodkar, a resident of Dongri, Nuvem complained that she was robbed off her mangalsutra worth Rs 1 lakh on June 19 when she was in Comba. Following investigation based on CCTV footage, the accused was arrested.
Jeviston, who confessed to have committed the crime, has been booked under Sections 356 and 379 of the IPC.
