Residents of Dattagad have raised concerns over the alleged failure of the local Panchayat to address repeated complaints regarding garbage accumulation, claiming that the neglect has led to unhygienic conditions in the locality.
According to locals, irregular garbage collection has resulted in piles of waste accumulating in the area, with residents alleging that nearly 18 dengue cases have been reported as a consequence of the deteriorating sanitation conditions.

Residents further stated that officials from the Health Department had visited the locality and documented the situation but claimed that no significant follow-up action was taken. They also expressed disappointment over the alleged absence of a visit by the local MLA despite the growing concerns.
Following appeals from residents, Shiroda Congress Block President Snehlo Gracias visited the affected area to assess the situation. Subsequently, garbage-clearing operations using a JCB machine commenced on Friday, offering some relief to the residents.
Locals have urged the authorities to ensure regular waste collection and implement long-term measures to maintain cleanliness and prevent the outbreak of vector-borne diseases in the area.
