A decomposed female body, believed to be of a woman around 55 years old, was discovered floating in the river behind Sameer Bar at Ekoshim on Monday morning.
A local resident, who had gone to collect flowers for prayers, noticed the body drifting in the water and immediately alerted authorities. The Porvorim Fire Team, along with police and the 108 ambulance service, rushed to the scene. With the assistance of fire personnel, the body was retrieved and handed over to the police.

After a panchanama was conducted, the remains were shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC) for post-mortem examination. Police have confirmed that the body is yet to be identified, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death and the circumstances that led to the woman ending up in the river.
