VELIM:  Adv Antonio Clovis da Costa, who was denied the much-expected candidature for the Velim ticket by his party said that he will not leave the party not contest elections as an independent candidate. “I have joined Trinamool to change dirty politics and bring clean politics. If I also do the same thing that Benjamin (Benjamin Silva who got the ticket) and other defectors did then what difference will be there between me and habitual defectors? I did not expect such a betrayal and would convey the sentiments of the party workers to the party leader.”

Clovis’ supporters have been outraged by the party’s rejection of the leader and founder member of the party. Clovis da Costa said he will put the sentiments of workers before party leaders.

Clovis said the party had done injustice to him and the party workers by inducting Benjamin Silva, who came to the party just a day ago as Congress had rejected his candidature.
