MARGAO: Under Secretary Home Pritidas Gaonkar has sent a letter to Director General of Police Goa with a request to immediately conduct detailed investigation into the complaint made against the then PI of Maina-Curtorim Police Station and present DySP Sagar Ekoskar with President of India regarding harassment to one Floyd Coutinho, resident of Margao with an intent to extort.
The Under Secretary Home has asked the police chief to take appropriate action and submit a detailed report to the department at the earliest.

It may be recalled that a letter from President’s Secretariat Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi was earlier sent to Chief Secretary Goa for appropriate attention and action in the representation made by Coutinho on March 22, 2022, against Ekoskar and others in a case of harassing him (Coutinho).
The Margao resident had made a written complaint against Ekoskar and others including PSI Tejaskumar Naik, police constables Dhiraj Naik and Rizwan Shaikh to President of India, with copies to the Prime Minister of India and Home Minister of India alleging that the police are harassing him and planning to falsely implicate him in a false case.
In his letter, Coutinho has alleged that police were trying to tarnish his name, harassing him by pasting notice on the door of his flat, issuing lookout notices at the airport to stop his entry into Goa when he is not involved in any offence and were trying to falsely implicate him in a case in which he is not involved. The same is being done due to personal grudge, Coutinho had alleged.
Coutinho stated in his letter that he was called at the police station in connection with a case in which he is not involved and his statement was recorded as a witness.
