PANJIM: Former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has been given another opportunity to depose before Crime Branch’s (CB) Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the illegal mining scam probe.
Sources said the SIT has issued him fresh summons to appear on Monday morning. Kamat had skipped questioning on Tuesday claiming he was not in the State.
He along with former Mines Directors Arvind Lolienkar and J B Bhingui, and former mines official A P D’Souza are amongst those who have been identified for questioning so far.
Sources said the SIT will call for assistance of some current mines officials and government-appointed chartered accountants to evaluate the losses as well as seek clarification on technical details. Lolienkar will make his second appearance in the case on Saturday.
