The Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG), in coordination with the Quepem police, conducted a late-night raid in Quepem on Tuesday, during which an illegally operating laterite stone quarry was inspected.
The joint operation was carried out to curb unauthorised mining activities in the region. Officials examined the site to verify compliance with mining regulations and environmental norms.
Further action is expected based on the findings of the inspection, while authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict measures against illegal quarrying to protect natural resources and ensure lawful operations.
