Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday urged voters in Davorlim and Navelim not to support the Congress, accusing the party of attempting to demolish people’s houses, while assuring that the BJP-led government would safeguard homeowners and regularise dwellings under the Mhaje Ghar scheme.
Campaigning for BJP Zilla Panchayat candidates Satyavijay Naik and Laxmi Shetkar, Sawant addressed public meetings where he questioned why people continued to vote for the Congress despite what he described as repeated attempts to target and demolish their homes.
The Chief Minister assured residents that the BJP government is committed to regularising houses under the Mhaje Ghar scheme before the 2027 Assembly elections, providing relief and security to thousands of families.
Making a direct appeal to the Christian and Muslim communities, Sawant said the BJP does not discriminate on the basis of caste or religion. He emphasised that all government welfare schemes are implemented uniformly and are meant to benefit every section of society.
Sawant said the BJP’s focus remains on development, housing security, and inclusive governance, and urged voters to support the party’s candidates in the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections.
