PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre urged the people of Goa to vote and elect the AAP Zilla Panchayat (ZP) candidates so that the corrupt and anti-Goan political parties get a clear message that Goans want to be ruled by people of the State and not Delhi bigwigs.
“Despite being a rich State, culturally and even financially, it has unfortunately been reduced to shambles thanks to its successive bad governance by both Congress and BJP. The ensuing ZP elections should be an opportunity for Goans to teach these parties a befitting lesson,” said Mhambre.
He further accused the ruling BJP of totally neglecting Goa and the Goans and governing the State only to help their business friends and Delhi party leaders.
“Though Goans do not want coal transportation, the BJP is going ahead with double-tracking of the railway track to enable private players to transport coal from MPT to Karnataka,” he said.
Besides, he pointed out how the BJP misused the government machinery and public fund to help its supporters and well wishers, in what is now called the “Labour Gate Scam”; wherein money collected for the welfare of contract labourers was distributed only to the BJP supporters and well wishers and not the poor labourers who truly needed it.
Mhambre said the COVID-19 pandemic is spreading in the State only because of the negligence of the BJP government and added that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant claim “bhievpachi garz nam” turned into a joke.
He also pointed out that despite having a higher budget, the BJP government is hardly providing any facilities to the Goans; while in Delhi, the AAP government is giving many things even though its budget is meagre when compared to Goa.
“Delhi people get uninterrupted power supply which can only be dreamt of in Goa,” he said, while adding that power is either free or subsidised in Delhi; while in Goa, even without using any units, one has to pay high bills.
He also pointed out that in Delhi, water supply is not only regular but even free for the people; while in Goa most people do not get water supplied to their houses and have to depend upon the tankers to supply them water.
“If the Goans want to change the system then now is the right time, reject the candidates fielded by the BJP and also the Congress and wholeheartedly support AAP so that a very decisive message is sent to the political masters that the Goans mean business and want to set their house in order now,” Mhambre added.
