PANJIM: In a disturbing incident on Friday noon, an assistant engineer with the Electricity Department allegedly committed suicide.
Panjim police said that the government officer identified as Antonio Carvalho, aged 53 years, jumped off the six floor of a building at Miramar, where he lived.

While it is learnt that he had personal problems due to which he committed suicide, the police said they have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the matter.
Any individual undergoing stress or having suicidal tendencies should seek help from registered agencies dealing with mental health, police said.
