Extortion racket busted in Calangute

The Calangute police have successfully detained two women who are allegedly engaged in a systematic campaign of extortion. Their modus operandi involved befriending unsuspecting men and subsequently threatening them with false rape accusations unless they paid them substantial sums of money. The arrest was triggered by a complaint filed by Kiran Patel, hailing from Gujarat.

The operation was executed through effective collaboration between several key members of the police force, including PI Colvale Vijay Rane, PI Calangute Paresh Naik, PSI Anil Polekar, LPSI Pragati Malik, PC Laximan Patekar, LPC Dipali Harmalkar, and LPC Dipika Naik. SDPO Porvorim Vishwesh Karpe provided essential supervision throughout the process.
