VASCO: The Sports Authority of Goa gym located at Tilak Maidan in Vasco witnessed a frightening incident on Tuesday evening as a large portion of the false ceiling came crashing down. Fortunately, despite the presence of many individuals at the time, no injuries were reported in the incident.
According to sources, the false ceiling had been showing signs of loosening for an extended period, posing a potential hazard to gym-goers. The collapse occurred suddenly while some individuals were engaged in exercise routines. Fortunately, they managed to avoid being harmed as the ceiling did not fall directly on them.

The gym, situated on the top floor above seating areas for spectators, faces challenges with water accumulation due to poor drainage. This accumulation leads to issues such as loosening of ceiling fixtures. Additionally, during the rainy season, water leakage from the roof is a common occurrence, resulting in wet floors and equipment rusting, making it challenging for youngsters to exercise.
