Fatorda Police book attempt to murder case

MARGAO: Fatorda Police has registered a case of attempt to murder against 49-year-old Russel D’Souza resident of Old Market, Margao, following an incident on  Thursday night and recovered the pistol used to commit the offence.

Police registered the case following a complaint lodged by 50-year-old Mashmoolah Khan who runs a bar and restaurant at Old Market that the said Russel fired three shots at him.

Apparently, Russel and Mashmoolah had heated arguments a little earlier and an infuriated Russel rushed to his house and returned with an old pistol and fired three shots at Mashmoolah. Fortunately, none of the shots hit and he did not receive any injuries.

Fatorda PI Ditendra Naik informed that a case has been registered under Section 307 of IPC for attempt to murder and also under the Indian Arms Act.

Police team led by PSI Amin rushed to the site. Sub Divisional Police Officer Santosh Dessai also visited the site.
